Arizona Firefighters Endorse Doug Ducey
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PHOENIX — The Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona, an organization representing over 7,100 firefighters around the state, today endorsed Doug Ducey for governor, citing Governor Ducey’s record of standing up for first responders in Arizona. The announcement adds to Governor Ducey’s support among first responders and law enforcement, including endorsements from the Arizona Police Association, Arizona Fraternal Order of Police, national and local Border Patrol Councils, the Arizona State Troopers Association, and the Sheriffs of Pinal, Pima, and Yavapai Counties.
“In Governor Ducey, we have a governor who cares about our firefighters and their families and appreciates the dangerous work we do,” said Bryan Jeffries, President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona. “He showed his commitment to us when he signed legislation last year expanding health coverage for firefighters exposed to hazardous materials in the line of duty. For the families affected by the terrible diagnoses that come from this exposure, this support means everything. The governor has shown he has our back. We are proud to support him.”
“Our firefighters wake up everyday and knowingly put themselves into danger to protect the lives of Arizonans,” said Governor Ducey. “Here in Arizona, we have a very special regard for our firefighters, given the impact of wildfire season on our state and citizens. They regularly protect people, property and pets, serving our communities 24/7. I’m honored to have their support, and thank them for their bravery, valor and service.”
